CASE STUDY
Assistive Mobility Device
OVERVIEW
V-Haptic Sight is a wearable mobility aid that captures visual information through an AI camera and converts it into intuitive haptic feedback. The prototype combines machine learning, embedded electronics and 3D prototyping to support safer and more independent movement for visually impaired users.

THE CHALLENGE
People with visual impairments often face difficulties navigating unfamiliar environments and detecting obstacles. Traditional mobility aids provide limited real-time spatial context, making independent movement and daily activities challenging. This project explores a wearable solution that can deliver intuitive, real-time spatial information through haptic feedback without relying on a screen.

MY ROLE
Developer - Led the design and prototyping of the device, including mechanical design, 3D printing, sensor integration and applying machine learning to translate camera input into haptic feedback.

DESIGN PROCESS
